I know I have tons of catching up to do. But I also have two Japanese quizzes to make up from my time in Sydney and then my final on Thursday. Yummy. And then I'm going to turn around and continue the torture by signing up for Japanese II. :)
This morning I spent several hours cleaning my house. For the last week and a half I've let no one in here. All my students have been taken out to eat; all my friends have been forced to either call or chat on the porch. So today it was nice to have half of the house (the half that matters being the kitchen, dining room and living room since that's what my students see) spic 'n span. Conveniently Paul had a short duty this morning, and so we were able to exchange a couple of e-mails in the process.
I am slowly recovering from a week of craziness...getting back from Sydney and immediately leaping into the last work needed for the pageant last night. Oh my God was it funny. I blew away everyone with my renditions of our infomercials and if a scout for SNL had been here he'd have offered me a job on the spot. I took some video that will be included in the Christmas DVD I'm sure, but I'll also throw some pictures up on here too in the meantime in another post. Oh, hi, and I almost forgot to mention that I WON THE DAMN THING! HA! I could hardly believe it. So more to come in that department.
Anyway, I bought the new Harry Potter book for Paul...and since I've only ever read the first book I am waaaay behind the rest of the world. But, to aid in that venture I was able to purchase the last set of the handsome hardbound editions in our bookstore. Coupled with the great military discount we get in our bookstore and the fact that we don't pay sales tax, I bought all six books for about $80. Quite the bargain. So, as soon as I get through my current book (Cane River) I'll pick start in on that.
Well, I must get back to studying...thanks to those of you who have been thoughtful enough to check in on me to make sure I was alive. Coming soon, lots and lots of fun in Australia...and the wacky pageant. :) Thanks for being patient.
